Getting It Done When You Don’t Feel Like It

Commitment is hard work. Once you start something and say that you will do it, there’s a certain level of commitment and dedication that is required to continue.

Over the weekend I completed a really huge project and it required an immense amount of commitment.

Every time I sat down to work on it, I would become distracted and start to work on something else.

Something that required less focus and more creativity.

If I was going to get this work done, I would have to focus and move beyond the feelings of not wanting to.

There were many days that I was met with doubt and uncertainty, unsure if I had the willpower to get it done.

After allowing two weeks to go by without so much as making a dent in the work, I had an epiphany.

The work wasn’t going to get done if every time I started working on it, my commitment wavered.

I had to ask myself how important was it for me to get this project done?

“Very important.”

That was all I needed, I sat down and worked on a plan to get the work done.

I made a commitment to spend at least two hours each day working on the project.

I was able to set a goal, work towards it, and get the job done.

Are there any things that you are currently putting off that you know you should be working on?

We all must demonstrate a certain level of dedication and commitment in order for our dreams to manifest.

You must be willing to remain committed to your vision, even when doubt and fear start to seep in.

Remaining committed means that you are willing to do what you said you would, long after the initial feeling has subsided.

Working towards your dreams is a daily process.

It is not something that you can start today and forget about tomorrow.

Each day you should be working towards the future that you dream about.

Rome wasn’t built in a day, though the process started on a day.

There is much that can be done in a day.

Every day that you put off until tomorrow is a day wasted and a day that you will never get back.

Your future does not create itself. It all starts with you.

By choosing to take the first step towards the future you envision, everything that you want to occur in your life will be achieved.

Create a plan, identify your goals, and diligently work towards the instructions that you’ve outlined.

You already have everything that you will ever need. Make a commitment today to work (or continue the work) on your future vision.

I’d love to hear from you.

Tomorrow is now. Start today.
