26 Feb Catching Courage
One Step At A Time
Over the weekend, I hosted my first-ever workshop “Move Beyond Fear to Find Purpose” and it was awesome!
Special thanks to the two beautiful ladies who joined me at the workshop.
They walked away feeling inspired and ready to create a life of purpose.
I intended to record the video and audio but had some technical difficulties.
I look forward to hosting more workshops in the near future.
Hosting this workshop was a huge milestone for me, it’s something I’d never done before.
Not that I haven’t stood up in front of an audience before, but hosting my own live workshop!? Never.
I was so scared and nervous and even considered canceling it the night before when I saw that only one person had purchased a ticket.
But then I thought, “One monkey don’t stop no show.”
So I went ahead with it and I’m glad that I did.
It allowed me the opportunity to move beyond my own fear.
I’ve been moving beyond my fears all week, I also conquered another fear by recording a Facebook live video for the very first time last week.
Leading up to hitting record, I was contemplating all the reasons why I shouldn’t do it.
Finally, I said, “Whatever, I’m doing this.”
I did it and then said, “That was fun, I think I’ll do another one.”
The thing is, I didn’t go into it thinking about the message I wanted to share or who would connect with it.
I went into it with my own fears racing through my mind about how I looked, how I would sound, what people would say…
I wasn’t thinking about how God wanted to use me to share a message, which is what I should have been thinking about or at the very least how I would be conquering a fear.
My work is to encourage people to face their fears and I’m constantly being met with my own, time and time again.
I don’t want to become stagnant while encouraging other people to face their fears.
I have to practice what I preach. Conquering one fear at a time.
This time it wasn’t going to stop me. I was ready to do what needed to be done even in the presence of fear.
Not for anyone else, but myself.
It takes courage to know your purpose and to walk in that resolve, especially in the presence of fear.
There is an abundance of potential and possibilities on the other side of fear.
You can create anything once you move beyond fear.
The negative thoughts in your mind will keep you from moving forward.
Don’t waste another minute being held captive to unrealistic fears.
It only exists in your mind.
Take a deep breath and move.
This is me overcoming my fear on Facebook live and I’m glad that I did.
What fears have you overcome this week? I’d love to hear from you.
Be courageous. Join the tribe.
